Category – IV: Donations for the aid of education for poor students and some miscellaneous fields.

 Pujya Shree Mota tried to help the genuine but poor students for their study, sometimes through their own insitutions. These included scholarships, books, prizes, monetary help in the form of wages for manual labour done in the institution by wel planned schemes of permanent trusts. Beneficiaries are mostly the gandhitan institutions doing rural experiments in Basic Education. These institutions include Lok Bharati (Sanosara), Saraswati Gram Vidyapith (Samoda), Gangajala Vidyapith (Aliabada). South Gujarat University (for helping poor village students).. etc.

 

Amount under this category is also allotted for various purposes like giving gold medals for standing first in various Master Degree Examinations, giving prizes for standing first among the backward class students of S.S.C. examination with separate prize provided for the first number of the backward class girl, for essay writing competitions, for monetory help to purchase books, for removing untouchability and also for the education and upliftment of harijans, for community science centre, gold medal of elocution competition, help to the ardent sarvodya workers who have devoted their lives for serving adivasies in the forest area, for medical relief and donations to hospitals, for propagating unique method of silence rooms of Hari Om Ashram, for famine relief, for water huts at many places during the summer, for squirrels and also for constructing small houses for harijans and repairing ghats of the river.

 

Main item under this category is Rupees One Lakh donated for constructing Planetarium in Ahmedabad City. This category raises the amount to the total of more than 8,61,000/- (Eight Laks Sixty One Thousand Five Hundred Rupees). Besides this Hari Om Ashrams have donated more than Ruppes thirty five lakhs for famine relief work.

 

Category V: Donations for constructing rooms for primary schools in distant poor villages.

 Shree Mota during the last phase of his life, started giving donations to the distant poor villages for constructing primary school buildings. During his bodily presence on this earth he donated approximately seven lakhs of rupees for this very purpose. Within the time period of twenty years he had collected from people near about one crore of rupees and given away for the society.

 

At the last moment of failing of his body, he expressed his keen desire in plain words that whatever funds are collected on the occasion of his death, should be untilised for constructing rooms for primary schools in the distant poor villages, and accordingly this work is carried out by Hariom Ashrams with the collaborations of the government and other Panchayats. (District, Taluka or Gram). Hariom Ashrams pay for the popular contrubution needed for granting the government’s share. Up-to-date (31-12-1989). Hari Om Asharam donated about Rs. 3,40,25,000/- )Three crores forty lakhs twenty five thousand) for constructing 8294 rooms for primary schools buildings. The goal in this field is that no village of Gujarat should remain without at least one built up room for primary school and the devoted workers of Hariom Ashrams are conscious and active on this line.
